Welcome to Wednesday, which means one thing at Mamamia HQ – Open Post. A place where you can come and share whatever is on your mind – whether it be a bad breakup or that new pair of shoes you purchased on the weekend (or was that two pairs?)

Think of it as a virtual coffee-catch-up with your girlfriends, where you get to discuss ANYTHING. I’ll get the ball rolling.

On my mind this week: Road trip music.

Tomorrow I’m heading off on an 8-hour drive with my parents to Queensland, for my cousins 21st birthday. And whilst I love the idea of wheels on an open road, driving through the country, and channeling Jack Kerouac, music diversity is a huge issue in my family – and when I say diversity, I mean lack thereof.

You see, I’ve inherited my Dad’s taste in music and when we travel the iPod is stuck on three things: Neil Young, The Doors and The Rolling Stones. Whilst this may make me a hipster (or just someone who thinks their Dad has great taste in music) sing-alongs and air guitar moments are always ensued.

But this week  Miley Cyrus’ ‘Wrecking Ball’ has been on repeat in the MM office, and as much as it hurts me to admit it – I’ve grown to like it.

Which has made me think I need to shake this road trip up a little in the music stakes. So far I’ve added Katy Perry, Fleetwood Mac, Lorde, Haim and Earth Wind and Fire to my playlist – any other suggestions?

After all, there is only so much 1969 a girl can handle.

Now over to you – what’s happening in your world at the moment?
