We’re divided in the Mamamia office this week.
We’ve agreed we’re all feminists (evidence of that in the gallery below) and we’re more than happy to agree we all enjoy the occasional cupcake.
But we’re split 50:50 when it comes to the Olympics. You see, some of us are planning to get up for the 5:30am opening ceremony start and, well, some of us would rather pash a squirrel.
I’m in the early camp. I’m getting up. And I’m going to make pancakes shaped as discuses to celebrate.
If there’s one thing I’m excited about this week (aside from the announcement that Mariah Carey’s going to be the new judge on American Idol!!!!!) it’s that we’re officially in Olympic countdown mode. Yep, it’s no sleep from here, people.
So who’s with me?
I can’t wait for that feeling of watching the swimming and there’s 10 metres to go and world record line Is. Catching. Up. And. Time. Slows. Down. And. Everyone’s. Screaming. And……
That. I’m looking forward to 2 weeks of that. Even if it’s happening at 3am.

Ahhh I totally forgot about Open Post this week, why I'm a day late (well it is still Wednesday here).... first of all Lucy I'm super excited about the olympics too, luckily the hours here won't be as bad as you guys back home so I won't have to stay up until crazy hours! Can't wait for the opening ceremony!
OMM this week is my trip to the hairdresser (yes it is a fwp but still annoying) - I went to have my hair cut and coloured last Saturday... asked for balayage well turns out she had no idea how to even do it and just ended up giving me some random highlights which now look orangey red! And she hardly did anything with the haircut and I got charged $200! I mean yeh I probably should have said something straight away but for some reason I just can't speak up when I'm sitting there... I guess I just don't like conflict in public!
And the thing is I don't go to the hairdresser very often so when I do, especially if I'm getting a colour I want it done properly and yes I'm willing to pay $200 if I'm getting something good out of it! Oh and no one has even noticed I've done anything to my hair so that says it all! Not to mention the fact that husband got annoyed at me not because I paid so much but because I came out unhappy and didn't say anything! Well I did end up calling up and re booking to have it all fixed, this time I made sure I found some pics of what I'm after so she doesn't fuck it up again!
You're getting her to fix it??!! Noooo I would insist on a refund because it is NOT what you asked for! If you don't want to do that then DEF get another hairdresser (the owner or most senior) to fix it not the girl that wrecked it!!!
Hey elle, thanks for the comment :) I did go and see her again this morning and luckily she fixed things up and I'm happy with it so it all turned out fine :) I guess in some ways it was my own fault for not taking any pics of what I was after in but both her and her assistant were nice to me today when I went and didn't seem annoyed at the fact that they had to do my hair again for free (well technically not free but you know what I mean!)..... lesson learnt always take photos of what you want with you!
I had my final therapy session with my amazing phsycologist on tuesday. After seeing her for almost 5 years, Im a lot better than i ever thought possible and she is moving to america to get married and spread her awesomeness.
In our final session she cried as she told me how proud of me she was. And i cried as i tried to convey how grateful i am and always will be to her. She got me through the worst time in my life and quite literally saved my life. So i wanted in a very public forum to say thank you to BW. one of the good ones...
