Barack Obama throws shade at Donald Trump while reading 'mean tweets'.

With his second term coming to an end, United States President Barack Obama took part in Jimmy Kimmel Live‘s hugely popular ‘Celebrities Read Mean Tweets’ segment for the second time.

Similarly to his first appearance and the other celebrity editions of the segment, President Obama read a string of insulting tweets.

The President read tweets calling him the “Nickelback of presidents”, accusing him of liking mustard on his hot dogs “because he’s gross”, and blaming him for hair conditioner that “isn’t even conditioning my hair”.

President Obama even responded to a few of the tweets.

To a Twitter user that wrote, “Barack Obama dances like how his jeans look,” the President responded, “You know, this jeans thing — this is so old. This is years ago, c’mon.”

To another user who asked “Barack Obama…bro, do you even lift!?” Obama matter-of factly replied, “Well, I lifted the ban on Cuban cigars. That’s worth something.”

But one tweet missives stood out among the nasty missives. Not because it was the funniest. Not because it was the most clever. Simply because it came from a familiar name.

“Well, @realDonaldTrump,” Obama responded, “at least I will go down as president.”
