Just all the best Oaks Day fashion from Ladies Day.

It’s Oaks Day at Melbourne’s Flemington Racecourse, and that means it’s also time for the fun fashion of Ladies Day.

But it seems that the controversy over the death of a horse at the Melbourne Cup on Tuesday – or maybe just the awful weather – may have put a dampener on today’s event.

Notably, some well-known Aussie faces decided to skip Oaks Day, like Instagram model and blogger Tully Smyth, and Block favourite Elyse Knowles. Bec Judd had also made Derby Day her only race day appearance, flying off to New York City this week.

However, those who did attend definitely compensated, turning up the glam factor for the event.

Rachael Finch stunned in a pastel pink broad-brimmed hat and puff-sleeved gown in a nod to the over-the-top glamour of ’80s.

The former Miss Universe Australia explained that the look was inspired by her mum when she was aged in her 20s.

Jennifer Hawkins arrived in style (via a helicopter!) for her final race day event as a Myer fashion ambassador. The model has been the face of the brand for 12 years.

Megan Gale matched her Melbourne Cup form with an equally exquisite headpiece today.
