Nicki Minaj has solved the dilemma of how to dress between seasons.

It’s officially autumn here in Australia, and spring in the Northern Hemisphere.

And you know what that means? It means we’re peering down the barrel of the fashion dilemma to end them all: how to dress between seasons.

You know how it is. It’s not quite winter, so those chunky knitted jumpers and duffel coats can’t help you out just yet; but the summer heat is slipping away, so going out in shorts and a crop top is going to leave you a little exposed.

What to do? It’s the most delicate balancing act of all, but lucky for us one woman has come up with a genius fix.

That woman is Nicki Minaj, and her solution is a simple one: team a pair of shorts with a long-sleeved jacket, and then whip out a boob. (Just one, mind you. Might catch a chill otherwise.)

It’s the sartorial equivalent of being rugged up in bed under a doona, but sticking your feet out just to make sure you don’t overheat.

The pop star showed us exactly how to execute the look while at Paris Fashion Week — it seems an Agent Provocateur nipple pastie for modesty preservation, and a button-down top for easy boob exposure, are both essential.

Listen: If you don’t like the idea of whipping out a boob, you could always take take inspiration from Chrissy Teigen… (Post continues after audio.)

You’ll also be pleased to see the ensemble is suitable for a range of situations.

Here’s Nicki looking not too warm, but also not too cold while standing in a Parisian downpour:

And here she is, looking (rightfully) smug while her fellow fashun people swelter in their far-too-wintery-for-spring ensembles.

Fools! If only they knew the temperature-regulating powers of a strategically exposed boob.

It goes without saying that this is a look you’re going to want to replicate in the office this season. Maybe even this week.

You might get a warning from HR, sure, but it’s a small price to pay for absolutely nailing the art of in-between seasonal fashion.

Thanks, Nicki — we owe you one.
