Newspaper awkwardly prints male symbol instead of female on front page.

Some mistakes are so glaringly obvious, they can go completely unnoticed. Until they are printed and distributed to thousands, that is.

The Washington Post‘s free daily newspaper, the WaPo Express, has apologised after readers noticed a rather big error on the front cover.

The image was meant to show a group of people arranged in the shape of the female gender symbol in a show of solidarity to mark the Women’s March in the US, which is taking place in Washington after Donald Trump’s inauguration.

The headline read: “THE MODEST START OF A MASSIVE MARCH.”

Awkwardly, the people in the image formed the shape of the male symbol instead.

The newspaper quickly acknowledged their error with a public apology and releases a corrected cover.

“We made a mistake on our cover this morning and we’re very embarrassed,” WaPo Express said in a tweet.

“We erroneously used a male symbol instead of a female symbol.”

Some fans were angry with the mistake, but a few cut through the noise to lend their sympathies.

The WaPo Express have indicated they will be reprinting the corrected image in a future edition.
