The second wife of Thredbo landslide survivor Stuart Diver has died after losing her battle with breast cancer.

Rosanna Cossetini, died over the weekend after a long battle with breast cancer.

Stuart Diver’s ‘Survival’.

Diver was the sole survivor of the 1997 Thredbo landslide, which killed 18 people including his first wife, Sally.

He was pulled from the rubble on August 2, 1997, after surviving 65 hours in sub-zero temperatures with only a small blanket and a jacket

He told the story in his well-known biography Survival, in which he write about meeting Rosanna.

“I’d see Rosanna Cossettini now and then at the pub or walking around the village. We would chat but I never thought it would really amount to anything,” he wrote.

“I figured she was way too good to go out with a rogue like me.”

Rosanna was told she would not be able to have a child following her cancer treatment, but in September 2011, the couple welcomed baby Alessia into the world.

“I had always believed that if it was right in your heart, then it was right,” Driver recalls in his biography.

“With Rosanna, I found myself loving again.”

Rosanna’s funeral will be held on Friday. Our thoughts are with the family.
