The Oscar Pistorius footage the world was never meant to see.

A dramatic video of Oscar Pistorius re-enacting the fatal shooting of his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp has surfaced.

The leaked footage was aired last night on Channel 7’s Sunday Night.

Part of the video shows Pistorius without his prosthetic stumps, holding his right arm in front of him as if clutching a gun.

The paralympic gold medalist can be seen running around the living room of his house and explaining: “I heard the noise and fired four shots.” In another scene overlaid with a recording of Pistorius reenacting the moment, he confronts the intruder, shouting: “I’ll call the police, get out, get out! Get the f*** out!”

Pistorius can then be heard hysterically screaming as he simulates discovering his sister Aimee — who plays Steenkamp in the video — dead on the bathroom floor.

He yells: “Please, God, please, please help. Help me. Help me!”

Other parts of the video show Pistorius dragging Aimee, playing Ms Steenkamp, from a toilet similar to the one in his home and timing how long it takes for his prosthetic legs to be put on.

The prosecution has finished presenting their case

An American company captured the video and Pistorius’ lawyers are said to be furious that it has been broadcast, News.com.au reports.

A defence team spokesperson said in a statement the footage had been “obtained illegally”, News.com.au reports.

“For the family, the airing of this footage constitutes a staggering breach of trust and an invasion of the family’s privacy”, lawyer Brian Webber said in a statement.

While the defence team said the video was filmed as part of a “forensic examination,” it has not been used in the 27-year-old’s trial proceedings so far.

Pistorius denies all charges against him. His trial is set to resume tomorrow after a lengthy adjournment for him to undergo a psychiatric evaluation.
