Today Show reporter blasts Sam Frost live on air for choosing to delete her social media accounts.

There’s a real “problem” with Sam Frost’s actions over the past 24 hours. Well, according to Channel 9 reporter Neil Breen anyway.

During a discussion on this morning’s Today Extra panel, the sports journalist slammed Frost for ‘lashing out’ at the tabloids over false rumours about her splitting with partner Sasha Mielczarek, 31.

“No-one wants a story published about them saying they’ve broken up from their boyfriend or girlfriend when it’s simply not true, ” Breen began.

“But I think Sam Frost’s problem is this: she went on reality television shows The Bachelor and The Bachelorette, she’s taken a job on FM breakfast radio, a high-paying job where her private life is part of the show.

“It’s part of the repartee that she and Rove [MacManus] use on that show and then when things go awry, she wants to lash out at everyone else.

“I don’t think you can have your cake and eat it too.

“But if she wants to tone things back and delete her social media for a while, I think it’s a good idea.”

Neil Breen has since told Mamamia he doesn’t think his comments blasted Sam Frost’s decision.

Frost yesterday deleted her social media accounts, after posting a furious message to Facebook about the lies being peddled in the press.

The outburst was prompted by a New Idea story that speculated that the 27-year-old was newly single, because she and her Bachelorette-winning boyfriend had un-followed each other on Instagram.

"New Idea get a f–king life! For the one millionth time, Sash and I have not split. In fact we are stronger than ever,” she wrote.

“Next week you’ll be reporting we are getting married. Or expecting a baby. It’s absolutely pathetic!”

Her social media blackout didn't go unnoticed, and this morning the 2Day FM host expanded on the reasons behind the decision.

"I just decided to go on a digital detox...it’s tiring having to constantly defend your relationship because you haven’t posted a bloody photo on social media," she continued.

"Spoilers guys, when we’re actually spending time together we’re not thinking, ‘We should definitely get a picture to make sure people know we’re still together’."

She insists the move is just temporary.
