Sure, you love your Snuggie, and also own its lesser-known sibling, the Slanket. But, you sigh, if only there was a wearable blanket that would allow you and your sweetie to snuggle up side-by-side, not to mention seriously rock a three-legged race. Now, that would be Christmas gift gold.
Brace yourself: The Twinsie is a thing. From U.K. company The Original Factory Shop comes this contraption that features four arm holes, three leg holes, two hoods and two zippers. Available in light blue, navy or aubergine for about $80 a pop, and in sizes from small to XL, the onesie version of this type of blanket built for two has been spotted on British celebs including Harry Styles of One Direction, Cheryl Cole and London’s mayor, Boris Johnson, the Daily Mail reports.
“Twinsie offers a practical but fun solution for those wanting to stay warm this winter without running up costly energy bills,” a spokesperson for the line tells the newspaper. “And what a fantastic Christmas present for the person in your life, or even the person you’d like to get closest to!”
Sadly, The Original Factory Shop currently only delivers to England, Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland, the Isle of Man and Isles of Scilly. But can it be long before an Australian retailer comes up with a similar version?
After all, before the Twinsie came along there were all those Snuggies we took pictures of and promptly uploaded to Instagram.
So, c’mon Snuggie and Slanket reps. We need a Double-ggie or a Couple-ket before our office Secret Santa exchange. Just one hint: Market it with a bottle of booze. Seriously - you’ll want to make it a double before you zip yourself into a fleece double.
Although, on second thought, no liquid should ever be consumed while wearing a Twinsie. We don't even want to imagine how a bathroom break would go down.
