The Miranda Kerr baby photo that has everyone talking.

In your Internet scrolling today, you may have seen a story about Miranda Kerr being the world’s most beautiful baby. While we feel like we knew this already, the story offered ‘proof’, in the form of a ridiculously attractive baby photo.

‘Those dimples!’, read the comments.

‘Her gorgeous eyes! Her lashes! She hasn’t changed one bit’, gasped people everywhere, smiling into their phones.

And my goodness, the photo WAS adorable. The snap of ‘mini-Miranda’ featured a classic bubble-beard (she was a trend-setter even in her pre-lingual days), an excited smile and huge, doe-like eyes.

That is one genetically-blessed baby, no doubt about it.

There’s only one problem.

It’s not Miranda Kerr. 

We’re sure Miranda Kerr was a beautiful baby. She just wasn’t…this baby.

The confusion began when Instagram account @AllMyFriendsAreModels posted a baby photo, with the caption ‘Guess who?’

And indeed, the people guessed.

Sure, their guesses were probably slightly biased by the fact that the account has the word ‘models‘ in it, but the verdict was somewhat unanimous.

As one enthusiastic user put it: ‘Miranda Kerr for sure!’

Shortly after, the account confirmed the majority of guesses, with a photo of Miranda Kerr.

While a few news sites were excited by the reveal, selling it as an adorable throwback, we at The Motherish were slightly more cautious.

Digging a little into the deeper into the abyss of comments on the Instagram post, we started to see some dissenters.

‘That’s not Miranda, her mother said so a few years back’, wrote one user.

*GASPS*

‘Yeah this is not Miranda Kerr, this child is only 3 and happens to be a friend of the families daughter. Maybe you should fact check before creating articles that aren’t true. This baby’s picture has been used more than once in fake articles’, wrote another.

SAY IT ISN’T SO.

The comments continued:

‘This is not Miranda!!!!!!!! I went to school with this little girls mother!!’

‘But this is my friend’s daughter…she keeps showing up on multiple accounts like this…it’s crazy!’

‘That is @avaughan2005 ‘s child… NOT Miranda Kerr’.

And upon further Instagram stalking (a skill I pride myself on), it appears that, indeed, this baby belongs to ‘Madilyn’s Mom’ (as her Instagram description reads).

While we didn’t want to share too many photos of the baby who looks-like-but-isn’t Miranda Kerr, the account has us convinced. The ‘mini-Miranda’ is actually Madilyn, and she is now a very cute toddler.

As with any story, there’s a moral to this one. And it’s VERY important.
