Mindy Kaling's brother's horrible attack on her character and career.

Mindy Kaling has become the subject of incessant attacks on both her character and career from her brother Vijay Jojo Chokal-Ingam amid the release of his self-published book.

Titled Almost Black: The True Story Of How I Got Into Medical School By Pretending To Be Black, Vijay told the New York Post he had little time for his famous sister after she told him his new book would “bring shame” on their family.

Perhaps understandably, Kaling wasn’t thrilled upon hearing her brother been accepted into medical school after posing as an African American student.

“She tried to sabotage the book, and that’s not acceptable,” Vijay told the New York Post.

The rift comes as Vijay believes his experience is a worthy “expose” of affirmative action, after Kaling has admitted in the past she has personally benefitted from affirmative action programs.

“My sister has engineered similar public and private plots against her many frenemies in Hollywood,” Vijay said.

“If Mindy thinks twice about stabbing someone else in the back because of what I’ve written, then I’m doing her a big favour.”

Kaling’s quote that “this book will bring shame on [their] family” graces the cover of the new memoir.

Vijay also admitted that when Kaling lamented how the book would look, he replied saying, “You play a slut on national TV, and you think this [book] will bring shame on the family?”

Kaling is yet to comment on Vijay’s words, but no doubt his public outburst will do little to mend their burgeoning rift.
