Grab a glass of bubbly. Hold onto your fascinator. It’s Melbourne Cup day, friends.
It’s practically the only day in the calendar where Australians collectively stop and watch as jockeys and their horses race around Flemington racecourse.
While there are tens of thousands of a few people who are focused mainly on the horse side of things, many of us are just hanging out to see what the celebrities are decked out in. The frocks. The outrageous headwear. The heels. The makeup.
So far the attendees haven’t disappointed.
Ever the stand-out, Rachael Finch paired a skirt and top from Jonathan Simkhai with a simple Victoria Novak crown.
Myer Fashions on the Field Ambassador Steph Claire Smith also gave the dreary Melbourne weather something brighter, rocking a peach White Suede number.
And then, of course, there’s Nadia Bartel in ice blue Alex Perry bringing all of the colour.
