Celeb in 5: Monday's best entertainment and gossip news.

1. Meghan Markle was pressured to lie about her age.

Well, this is ridiculous.

Meghan Markle was forced to lie about her age to land acting jobs when she was… 30.

Yep, you read right. THIRTY.

According to The Sun, the royal-to-be once said agents wanted her to tell porkies about her age once she hit 30 because they thought producers would instantly reject her on based on her, erm, geriatric status.

“I’m always told, ‘Don’t say your age’. I’m 33 and I’m really comfortable with that. I think if anyone has a problem then it’s their problem, not mine.

Listen: Meghan Markle’s Christmas is about to get very interesting. Post continues after audio.

“I think in television, you are seeing a shift of women who are not in their 20s who play strong women.”

To add to the general ridiculousness, a producer once asked her to buy a cheesecake for an audition when she only had $20 in her bank account.

“And I was like, ‘I’m sorry?’. So I spent my last money on this cheesecake and I didn’t get the part.

“But, there are these power-hungry people that take advantage when you are young and impressionable and want it so badly.

“Maybe he can send me some cheesecake now!”

2. The Block’s Elyse Knowles is not happy with reports about her ‘surprise wedding’.

Oh… this is awkward.

A magazine (*cough* New Idea *cough*) ran a story saying The Block’s Elyse Knowles will soon be married to her partner Josh Barker.

Which is all well and good except… Knowles and Barker aren’t even engaged yet and the magazine has kind of stolen their thunder.

“We wouldn’t be surprised if there’s an announcement in the next few weeks,” New Idea quotes the source as saying.

“I know Josh has been talking a lot about popping the question and making it all official,” they said.

Knowles has responded to the, erm, total fake news on Instagram.

“Wrong! Wrong! Wrong! Definitely wrong!” she wrote.

“Thanks for ruining my chances, douchebags!”

Another day, another fake wedding.

In news that’s entirely unconfirmed, we could soon be seeing PR queen, Roxy Jacenko on our tellys. Well, laptops, more accurately.

The mum-of-two and Sweaty Betty founder is currently an ambassador for streaming service, Stan, which has prompted some to ask: does this mean she’s going to get her own reality TV show?

“There is no reality show confirmed,” she told news.com.au when asked about the rumours.

“This is merely something that has been discussed as a possibility but nothing is confirmed nor in motion.”

This, folks, is why we said MAYBE. Whether or not this ends up happening, we would like Roxy to know we would 100 per cent watch a reality show about her hectically impressive life.

4. Candice Swanepoel is expecting her second child.

Victoria’s Secret Angel and owner of amazing genes, Candice Swanepoel just announced that she’s preggers with baby number two.

Just a month after walking the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show in Shanghai (we know), the model/amazonian goddess shared a picture on Instagram baring a considerable baby bump that definitely was not on show when Swanepoel was sporting the highest of heels and lingerie, mid-catwalk.

This will be her and fiancé, Hermann Nicoli’s second child, with the couple welcoming a baby boy, Anacã Nicoli, in October of last year.

Congratulations to the lovely couple, and may you shower the world with your genetically-blessed genes.

God speed.

5. Serena Williams is asking for help with a common parenting struggle.

Today Serena Williams decided to throw out a common parenting dilemma to her fans and Instagram followers to see if they had any pearls of wisdom to share.

“Teething- aka the devil – is so hard. Poor Alexis Olympia has been so uncomfortable. She cried so much (she never cries) I had to hold her until she fell asleep.”

The tennis champ said she’d tried everything from amber beads to homoeopathic water and nothing had seemed to help.

“I almost need my mom to come and hold me to sleep cause I’m so stressed. Help? Anyone??”

Thankfully her calls didn’t go unanswered, with plenty of mums suggesting trying things like frozen bagels, frozen fruit and something called gripe water.

Let’s hope one of these works for little Alexis and her mum gets some rest.
