Megan Gale was seriously worried about sharing her miscarriage story.

This week, for the first time, Australian model Megan Gale opened up to InStyle magazine about the miscarriage she suffered in May last year.

It was a deeply emotional and heartbreaking story from the 41-year-old and mother of two-year-old son River.

“I hopped up on the table and [my obstetrician] put the ultrasound on my tummy. He just kept moving it and not saying anything and I started to feel sick,” she said.

Now, she’s thanked fans for their support following the story.

She posted an image on Instagram to share her gratitude, and the caption read:

“Sharing our miscarriage story was something I seriously deliberated over and whether or not I was making the right decision by telling it.

“But judging from the outpouring of support and the positive response it was absolutely, 100% the right call.

“Thank you to everyone on behalf of Shaun and myself for your lovely comments today. It means more than you know and a HUGE thank you to all of you who have bravely spoken up and shared your stories.”

She followed the thank you post with this inspirational message:

In the magazine interview, Megan spoke at length about the damage caused by that all-too-commonly-asked question: “When are you having a baby?”

“It’s such a personal question, and what makes it that much harder to answer is when you’ve been through some kind of hurdle with conception.”

Megan and Richmond Tigers AFL player partner Shaun Hampson have been together since 2011.
