Matty has an achingly beautiful explanation why watching The Bachelorette was so tough.

The Bachelorette runner-up Matty J has won us all over again with his heartbreaking confession about what happened when he watched the show.

The marketing manager told panelists during a Friday morning appearance on Studio 10 the most difficult part of it all was reliving those moments.

“The hardest part about watching it back was almost falling back in love,” he said.

The 29-year-old went on to admit seeing Georgia Love carried a certain nostalgic sting.

“You can’t help but really miss her again when you look at the amazing times we had together, how happy we both were,” he said.

Matty J told Mamamia he initially came away from the show feeling as though he was reeling from a break-up.

"It’s been really strange because the first two weeks I was back in Sydney, I was treating it like I was trying to get over an ex-girlfriend," he said.

"I thought I was doing pretty well, then all of a sudden the promos started and you forget that it’s all going to be replayed on screen."

The former contestant went on to admit he initially wasn't going to watch the series but did so with his mother's encouragement.

"Part of me didn’t want to watch the series and to erase it from my mind," he said.

"Mum was like, you had so many amazing times with Georgia and you have to allow yourself to enjoy those as well."

Matty J told the Studio 10 audience one instance of witnessing a promo held a rather dramatic ending.

"There was a little while I didn't have anything to do with the show, I was in the kitchen, a promo came on with Georgia, I heard her voice, I ran to the TV and pulled out the plug," he said.

Rejection hurts but we are almost certain the marketing manager won't be heartbroken for long.
