Mary-Kate Olsen nailed this very unusual bridesmaid brief.

We’ve all worn or witnessed the bridesmaid dress from hell. It doesn’t fit right, it scratches your skin and by the end of the night you can’t wait to take the bloody thing off.

That’s why it’s so refreshing to see a bride allowing her bridesmaids to choose their own dresses and get a little bit creative with it.

Over the weekend, Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen were both bridesmaids for their friend Cassie Coane.

Coane let her bridesmaids (all 18 of them) choose their own dresses, and gave them one simple instruction: wear floral.

In true Mary-Kate style, the Olsen twin wore a short, patterned kimono frock, with green shoes, and a flower crown.

And, together, it all just seemed to work.

The Olsen twins are known for snubbing tradition when it comes to bridesmaid dresses – in February this year they wore black to their friend’s wedding in New Zealand.
