Mariah Carey was paid $4 million to perform at this 19-year-old's lavish wedding.

Mariah Carey is back performing, back in the headlines and back earning money, and finally, the world comes full circle again.

Just weeks after that now infamous New Years Eve performance where the world’s original diva cemented her status as just that, Carey proves that no amount of bad press is bad press, nor will it stop her earning cash.

According to TMZ, Carey performed alongside Elton John and Mark Ronson at the wedding of the granddaughter of Russian billionaire Valery Kogan in London over the weekend.

And just for turning up and singing some of her most requested songs, Carey walked away about AU$4 million richer.

The bride, 19-year-old Irene Kogan, made the reasonable request for Mimi to perform at the reception, with the pop star flown in from the US for the occasion.

Despite the astronomical paycheck Carey pocketed, it’s believed the performance fee is like spare change for billionaire Kogan, who is rumoured to be worth $2 billion after investing in Moscow’s Domodedovo Airport, the Daily Mail reports

The bride wore a Ralph & Russo gown to the modest wedding, which in itself can cost upwards of US$500,000.

The performance comes just weeks after the singer announced she was taking a break from social media following her controversial New Year’s Eve performance in Times Square, New York, where technical difficulties meant she was unable to hear her own song track.

Rather than battle on hopelessly, Carey simply remained on stage with her mouth closed and her hand on her hip, waiting for the track to play out.

We assume she didn’t employ the same antics at the wedding with such a paycheck at stake.
