A repairman became stuck inside an ATM machine without his phone.

If you thought having your card eaten was the worst ATM-related thing that could happen to you, you’d be wrong.

Just ask a Texas ATM repairman, who found himself trapped inside one this week.

The man was changing the lock to the door that leads to the back of the Bank of America ATM on Wednesday when he locked himself inside.

Having left his phone in his truck while working in the closed bank branch, the man found himself trapped with no employees nearby to free him… which, you know, is our legitimate worst nightmare.

Luckily the contractor came up with a genius way to alert passersby to his predicament, sliding notes saying, “Please help. I’m stuck in here and I don’t have my phone. Please call my boss,” through the receipts slot to people as they used the fully operational ATM.

After receiving the message, a person alerted local police to the situation, who were then able to free the man.

"This is a once in a lifetime situation you'll probably never see or hear about again," senior officer Richard Olden told local media.

"We're all thinking this has got to be a joke... but sure enough, we we can hear a little voice coming from the machine."
