A drink spiked to procure sex.

There is no getting around the fact that this is illegal.

No matter how you frame it -a simple prank? An innocent idea gone AWOL. A drunken spur of the moment action.

It is drink spiking and it is against the law.

A Sydney man has learnt the full extend of his actions after facing court for spiking a drink in a nightclub in the Sydney suburb of Dapto.

His reason behind the spiking was that he wanted to prolong the evening – and ensure sex with his victim.

His justification “”I had to do something wrong to do something right.”

The victim – was his wife.

The Illawarra Mercury reports that the man from Horsley, Christopher Chand went out for the evening at the request of his wife.

The man was arrested at his home. His wife at first was not impressed to be interrupted.

He was tired after a full day working and a stint at the gym – but his wife want to head out to Dapto Leagues Club.

He agreed. But, it is reported, he was feeling exhausted so he decided to take one of his Ritalin pills prescribed to treat his adult ADHD.

The Illawara Mercury report that at around 11pm his wife wanted to go home as she was tired – he managed to convince her to stay a while longer. When his wife left the premises for a cigarette Chand leapt into action.

From the report “Another patron told police she saw him pull a small packet from his jacket pocket, pick something out of it, crush it in his hands and drop it into his wife’s wine glass before stirring the drink with a pencil.”

Chand had just spiked his wife’s drink.

The alarmed witness informed security who then watched the couple for signs of intoxication in Chand’s wife.

Several hours later the couple left. Security and management ten seized the empty glass which held a white residue dusting the bottom.

They called police who tracked down the couple and went to their home.

From The Illawarra Mercury: “Annoyed at having been interrupted in the throes of passion, Mrs Chand’s mood quickly changed when officers told her they had reason to believe her husband had spiked her drink.

“You put Ritalin in my drink?” she screamed at him.

“I’ve told you not to do that. Why did you do that? “

The police report says she exclaimed

“I can’t leave my glass alone or you put Ritalin in it.”

“You’ve wrecked our night, I can’t believe you did that.”

Chand was arrested and charged with giving a drink containing an intoxicating substance to harm.

He told police: “I had to do something wrong to do something right.”

In Port Kembla Court on Tuesday the Magistrate Michael Stoddart, said that Chand had showed “a complete lack of respect” for his wife and he fined him $1000.

There is no word on how their relationship survived the incident, but we can think of a few that she might like to use should she need some assistance.
