It would be a sad, sad world if MAC Prep + Prime was not in my life.
For those of you who don’t know what primer is, let me explain it to you in the wise words of my dad. “It’s like the stuff they put on cars before the paint goes on.” Except, it’s actually the stuff you put on your face before your foundation goes on.
It helps to protect my skin from the make-up I put on my face. This is exactly how I justify going to bed with my makeup on, which I do often.
Please don’t judge me.
The Mac Prep + Prime also has a hint of glitter. So as much as I love telling people my complexion is naturally glowing when they ask me, it’s actually my primer. Shhh, don’t tell anyone.
Primer is also super easy to apply. I just pump my bottle twice into my hand, and then pat it on with my fingers in-between applying my moisturiser and foundation.
A makeup artist once told me that primer is the most important beauty product there is, because it acts as a base for your foundation to blend into. This means foundation spreads more easily and evenly on your skin, giving your flawless coverage. As my skin tends to be on the oily side, it also helps to keep me from looking like an grease slick by the end of the day, which is always a bonus.
