There are certain harsh realities that parents try to keep hidden from their kids for as long as possible. The existence of Santa. Or that ‘farm’ your dog had to go live on after he definitely didn’t die.
But for poor little Sadie, there was one truthbomb that couldn’t wait any longer to be dropped.
Her parents knew it was going to be tough, but they needed to break it to her before she began asking questions.
Sadie needed to be told that her baby brother was not going stay a baby forever.

Some people need to relax. When I trawl through the comments section on forums/articles like this it always reminds me of the Simpsons' episode with the line "But what about the children?!! Oh won't somebody please think of the children??!!" and it makes me laugh. We honestly wrap our kids up in cotton wool far too much these days. Whether it's a prize for coming 7th, or whether it's not filming them crying for fear of "cultivating their tears" (lol) we have gone from one extreme of hardline, almost negligent parenting in one era, to overprotective parenting in this one.
There is nothing wrong with this clip, it is funny and moving and a good little document for this particular family's history, not to mention how cute the little brother's look. It captures the beauty of the raw innocence and emotion of a child without all the adult stuff getting in the way, and it displays the love they have for life and their sibling, the kind of stuff many of us surpress in adulthood. The only thing I could find a bit annoying about this is that the little girl unfortunately sounds a bit like a mini Deschanel with whole "Oh you are soooo cute!" and the "Oh my gosh!" parts, which is a little disappointing, but other than that no harm done :)
I so know this feeling every time I look at my three year old!
