Our first look at Lisa Wilkinson on The Project has landed and it's bloody glorious.

It’s here. The moment we’ve all been waiting for is finally here.

No, you haven’t won the lottery. Sorry.

But don’t fret, because Network Ten have blessed us with not one, but TWO shiny new promos for The Project’s 2018 season featuring Lisa Wilkinson.

And gee it looks like we’re in for a cracker of a year.

LISTEN: Mamamia’s Mia Freedman on Lisa Wilkinson’s decision to leave Today. Post continues after audio.

The first 30-second teaser clip (playing at the top of this post) shows returning favourites, Carrie Bickmore, Waleed Aly and Peter Helliar interviewing the former Today Show co-host to find out what she’ll be bringing to the job.

“For example, I have a Gold Logie,” Aly says. “And I have a Gold Logie,” Bickmore adds. “And I’ve got… a Golden Gaytime,” jokes Helliar, which is all well and good, Pete, except for that this is… Lisa Wilkinson we’re talking about here.

Listing her many accomplishments, Wilkinson goes on to tell them all about why she’s 100 per cent qualified for the position.

“Well, I’m a journalist, broadcaster, mother, former magazine editor, youth campaigner, women’s advocate, oh, and I’m a member of the Order of Australia.” BOOM.

We also get to see what The Project desk will look like with Lisa sitting in her rightful place behind it in a second clip (check it out below…)

Ah, it’s glorious.

Wilkinson announced the move to Network Ten after her well-publicised exit from Nine’s The Today Show in October over a pay dispute. She had just celebrated her 10th year of hosting the morning show earlier in 2017.

The Daily Telegraph reported that Wilkinson was being paid only half of what her co-host, Karl Stefanovic, takes home every year.

The Project returns to TV on January 9 but Wilkinson won’t officially join the show until after Australia Day.
