Rosie Batty blasts TV host live on air.

Rosie Batty, the mother of murdered schoolboy Luke Batty, has been left emotionally traumatised and ‘horrified’ by an interview she was involved in on Studio Ten this morning. Ms Batty was on the morning breakfast show discussing Victoria’s domestic violence laws, when she found herself in the middle of a heated debate with presenter Joe Hildebrand. She broke down in front of the panel, shocked by their ‘misguided’ comments about proposed law changes which could see non-disclosure of child abuses cases deemed criminal acts. Hildebrand made the comment that mothers “Just had to get out” of abusive relationships for the sake of their children, but Rosie Batty took offence, saying it was often not safe for women to leave.  “I’m just horrified. I’m just absolutely horrified to hear this garbage,” she said. “I thought with Luke’s death something would come out of this that would actually show the difficulty women have in abusive relationships.”

Li appeared before court yesterday charged with his part in the assault, as did Worthington. Bingle, however, has not yet been charged.
