Perez Hilton just used his daughter's birth to discuss surrogacy.

“The dream I’m living is one that everyone should be able to live.”

Perez Hilton, reformed celebrity bully and the original online gossip columnist, has welcomed his second child.

Perez, 37, announced the birth of his daughter, Mia Alma, via his website this morning.

The media celebrity wrote honestly about his struggles with surrogacy and said how important surrogacy is to men and women, gay or straight, around the world.

Perez, who is a single father, said his first attempt at surrogacy was easy, with his son, Mario, being born in 2013. But in the years since, his attempts kept resulting in “heartbreak”.

“With Mia, unfortunately, there was a lot of heartache along the way,” he wrote.

“I naively expected things to be just as easy the second time around. I was painfully wrong! After three failed pregnancy attempts and a lot of sadness, I was beginning to lose hope. Then, after a fourth try, the positive pregnancy result!

“This is what I’ve dreamed of my whole life.”

Perez then used his platform to turn the conversation about surrogacy on its head.

“This dream of being a parent is something that many Americans share. Gay AND straight Americans both use surrogacy to start or add to their families. Yet, in many states, surrogacy is illegal. As the Supreme Court is ready to make their landmark decision on same-sex marriage, I feel the need to get political and urge all politicians to please make surrogacy legal nationwide. The dream I’m living is one that everyone should be able to live!”
