RSVP NO. You don't want to go to this type of wedding.

Dumbbells. Water bottles. Fitness magazines.

It’s the paraphernalia that you’d find in a gym, not at a wedding. But one couple has combined their love of muscles and each other to celebrate their nuptials with a fitness-themed wedding.

Derek and Brittany met at the gym.

He saw her lifting weights in the corner, and it was love at first bicep curl. Their ideal date night includes lots of sweating and panting… at the gym, at the GYM (geez, what were you thinking?)

And so it was natural for the pair to have a workout-themed wedding.

Brittany explains: ”Exercise is just as natural to us as breathing. It’s what we love to do, and [we] fell in love with each other doing it.”

The bridal party photos included push-ups and poses you’d find on a body building stage with dumbbells for props (and not the 1kg hot pink ones either).

Inside the lime green-themed wedding reception, tables were named after exercises like ‘lunge’ and ‘shoulder press,’ and as far as we can tell guests did not have to drop and give 20.

Guests were encouraged to use the hashtag #MuscleMarriage, and the couple provided a buff magazine cutout to pose behind to get the gym junkie body of their dreams.

For the bonbonniere, guests got to take home a water bottle with a message from the happy couple inside.

Again, we don’t know what it said but we’re guessing it was along the lines of ‘Good things come to those who work their asses off and never give up.’

What do you think of the idea of a workout-themed wedding? Would you ever theme your wedding? Have you ever been to a themed wedding?
