'Always the bridesmaid, never the bride' has never been more fitting.

We’ve heard of couples hiring wedding venues, celebrants and fancy cars for their big days… But never before have we heard of brides hiring a bridesmaid.

But that doesn’t mean no one ever will, right? Especially now that “professional bridesmaids” are offering their services.

A few weeks ago, a 26-year-old US woman named Jen Glantz set up an ad on Craigslist advertising her services as a professional bridesmaid.

The woman, who has been a bridesmaid four times already, says she has become something of an expert at “responding in a timely manner to pre-wedding email chains created by other bridesmaids and the Maid of Honor” and “catching the bouquet” and now wants to offer her skills outside of her friendship circle.

Not surprisingly, the ad went viral.

But what is surprising is that Jen has been approached by brides asking her to lend a hand.

This is what Jen wrote in her original Craigs List post about the bridesmaid skills she’s ‘exceptionally good at’:

Holding up the 18 layers of your dress so that you can pee with ease on your wedding day

Catching the bouquet and then following that moment up with my best Miss America-like “Omg, I can’t believe this” speech.

Doing the electric and the cha cha slide.

Responding in a timely manner to pre-wedding email chains created by other bridesmaids and the Maid of Honor

She’s offered her services to the following people…

You don’t have any other girlfriends except your third cousin, twice removed, who is often found sticking her tongue down an empty bottle of red wine.

Your fiancé has an extra groomsmen and you’re looking to even things out so your pictures don’t look funny and there’s not one single guy walking down the aisle by himself

You need someone to take control and make sure bridesmaid #4 buys her dress on time and doesn’t show up 3 hours late the day of the wedding or paint her nails lime green.

We hear ya, Jen.

Bridesmaids who paint nails lime green deserve to be de-throned.

So… are you up for it? If you’re married, who did you choose to be your bridesmaids? If you’re not married, who would you choose?

And what would you make them wear?
