Teenager killed in alleged Brewarrina domestic violence attack 'reached out for help'.

An 18-year-old woman who allegedly died at the hands of her partner in western New South Wales reached out for help a few months before her death, community locals say.

Police allege Melita Hart was killed by her 23-year-old boyfriend Darryl Biles on Saturday in Brewarrina.

Emergency services were called to a house on Byron Street where the teenager was found with serious injuries.

Paramedics were called, but she died at the scene, officers said.

Her boyfriend was charged with her murder and having three outstanding warrants.

Patricia Frail from the Brewarrina Integrated Childcare Centre said Ms Hart had come to her for help a few months ago and this incident draws attention to a growing problem in regional areas.

She said there are repeated calls for more services in regional areas to help victims of domestic violence and those suffering from drug and alcohol abuse.

“There aren’t enough services out here, we need services just for women who are seeking help,” she said.

Today, the local community marched down Bathurst Street in memory of the 18-year-old.

Ms Frail said the small community was shattered.

“The town of Brewarrina are just totally, totally devastated by it,” she said.
