Lady Gaga has responded to her body critics. And her message is pure class.

Lady Gaga has hit back at trolls who criticised her body during her Super Bowl performance with a message of body positivity.

The US pop star told fans they should be “proud” of their bodies like she is, “no matter who you are”.

Lady Gaga put on an amazing performance during the half time show at America’s NFL final, but as Mamamia reported, some people were distracted by her “confronting” stomach.

Yep, this stomach was somehow considered "flabby". Source: Twitter.

The songstress addressed the criticism with a post to her Instagram account on Wednesday, sending an empowering message to fans instead of focusing on those trying to drag her down.

"I heard my body is a topic of conversation so I wanted to say, I'm proud of my body and you should be proud of yours too. No matter who you are or what you do," she wrote.

"I could give you a million reasons why you don't need to cater to anyone or anything to succeed. Be you, and be relentlessly you. That's the stuff of champions."

The 30-year-old thanked her fans for their support, telling followers "I love you guys".

Gaga, who was born Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta, is known for advocating for acceptance, inclusion and equality, particularly of those within the LBGTQI community.

It was for this reason she chose 'Born This Way' - an anthem about self-acceptance - as her opener for the performance.
