Er...One of the farmers who wants a wife doesn't actually have a farm.

Any ladies hoping to become mistress of Lachlan McAleer‘s Camden farm will have to keep their dreams of horseriding into the sunset with him in check.

The professional love-finder is selling the property, just days before Farmer Wants a Wife premieres on Monday, reports the Daily Telegraph.

According to a real estate listing, it’s the first time the propery has been offered for sale since 1927. Apparently, the farmhouse is being leased for $500 a week currently.

Is McAleer trading in the 500-acre farm for a life in front of the cameras?

He’s got plenty of experience.

We’re not fooled by those hay bales, Lachlan. Image via Instagram.

McAleer appeared in the controversial Married at First Sight last year, “marrying” Clare Tamas and then cohabiting with her for a month.

When we last saw the couple on TV, they had decided to give their relationship a go, but Tamas said it didn’t work out that way.

He “quickly departed after the last cameras, with no word” Tamas told New Idea.

It seems McAleer wanted to explore greener pastures on a new reality dating show.

He’s definitely been perfecting his image in preparation for his new chosen career: TV dater.

We put in an inquiry with the agents handling the sale of the Camden farm but had received no response at the time of writing.

In his Farmer Wants a Wife bio, McAleer is full of praise for his semi-rural lifestyle.  “I live in the country but close enough to the city to enjoy the best of both worlds. I’m looking for someone to settle down with on the farm, someone who’s going to enjoy farm life. There’s a lot to love out here,” he said.

“I love the farming life. There’s a lot of history attached to this property which I love.”

Farmer Wants a Wife premieres Monday on Channel Nine.
