Amber alert: Police hold grave concerns for young boy missing from QLD home.

Police, SES, and members of the community have spent the night scouring the streets of Southport searching for a missing seven-year-old boy.

Koby Chandler was last seen at Joan Street in Southport on the Gold Coast around 4pm. The little boy, who was wearing his school uniform has not been seen since.

He is described as 120-125cm tall of slim build, with blonde, shaved hair. He was last seen wearing a Southport State School uniform which is a light blue polo shirt, dark blue shorts and grey shoes.

A Police helicopter and volunteers from the State Emergency Service assisted police in a search last night without success. Police continue to search the area into the morning with SES volunteers to return at first light.

Police are asking residents in the Southport area to check their yards and any sheds, cubby houses, caravans, boats or vehicles where a child may be seeking shelter.
