Hero, Shocker and Whinger of the Week.

It’s that time of the week again. The time when we bring the best stories of the web here to you in order to crown our Hero, Shocker and Whinger of the Week.

This week, Hero/Shocker/Whinger is taking on a distinctively culinary flavour.  So, let’s all sit back and reminisce on the heroes, shockers, and whingers who chewed up our Internet bandwidth this week.

Hero of the Week goes to…

The Kickstarter potato salad man.

When it came to crowning this week’s Hero of the Week, we just couldn’t look past the legend behind this Kickstarter campaign to make potato salad:

It’s needless to say that Zack Danger Brown exceeded his starch-salad-based expectations. But what will he do with all of the extra cash?

Via Mashable:

“First and foremost, we need to fulfill the promises that we’ve made,” Brown told Mashable. It is unclear how much potato salad he plans to make, or how he plans to give people a bite of the salad. However, the FAQ on his Kickstarter page states that he is assessing the “feasibility of sending potato salad around the world.”

He also has non-potato-based goals: he will donate the rest of the money to charity.

Shocker of the Week goes to…

The rat in the wrap.

Are you eating? No? Good.

This is a picture of a rat in a wrap that surfaced on the Internet this week:

The picture was tweeted by Steven Henderson, and was allegedly taken in New York fast food store, Chop’t. According to Gothamist, the store closed for the day after the incident for a “deep clean”.

Now, let’s just look at those beady eyes one last time:

AAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRGGGHHHHH!

We will never eat again.

Whinger of the Week goes to…

Kathy M., and her anger at Corporate Tricksters.

So, we found this picture on Jezebel and… yeah. Have a read:

THOSE CORPORATE TRICKSTERS! We bet the Big Macs on the ads don’t look like the ones in the shop, either. And Grimace is just a guy under a purple sheet…
