Kate and Leo's friendship goes on and on.

Ever since they were star-crossed young lovers aboard that doomed ship of love, Kate Winslet, 40, and Leonardo DiCaprio, 41, have shared a special relationship.

Even though teen me would have done anything for a real-life love affair between the two, what actually bloomed was far better: a beautiful and enduring friendship based on mutual respect and affection.

In the intervening years since Titanic, she’s scored an Oscar, had three marriages and borne three children. He’s won zero Oscars (despite a swag of nominations), dated 17 supermodels and remains a pinup boy for bachelorhood.

What hasn’t changed for either of them is the deep and abiding friendship that was forged in the watery depths of that James Cameron monstrosity.

You wouldn’t know these two are close. You don’t see them tripping out of Nobu arm in arm or whatever the hot Hollywood restaurant du jour is. You don’t see them posting selfies together on their Instagram accounts. They never seem to holiday together in a yacht off St Barth’s. I’ll bet you didn’t know he walked her down the aisle at her wedding to Ned Rocknroll.

The only time we get a glimpse into the relationship of Kate Winslet and Leonardo DiCaprio is during the awards season, when they inevitably run into one another as they attend event after event.

It’s beautiful.

This year could be the most special of all. They’re both nominated for Oscars and it’s widely tipped to finally be poor old Leo’s turn. Imagine if they both win? JACK AND ROSE 4EVA.
