What do you do when you can’t get Kate Middleton to pose for the cover of your fashion mag? You create the the image yourself.
That’s what the editors of Marie Claire South Africa have done in this latest Photoshop shocker.

For the August issue of Marie Claire South Africa, the Duchess of Cambridge appears dressed in a creation by famed South African designer Clive Rundle, sporting a megawatt smile while posing with her hand on her hip.
The only problem is, however, that the brunette beauty is clearly not Middleton, but the work of a fan of Photoshop instead.
“We were so inspired by her fairytale wedding and her life as a modern-day princess, which is why we elected Kate Middleton as our cover star for the August issue,” editor Aspasia Karras told UK’s The Telegraph.
“The cover is actually a hyper-real illustration of Kate, meant to be a fan art tribute to fashion’s new royal icon,” she explained.
The magazine calls the image”fan art tribute”. We call it “ploy to sell magazines”.

Just wanted to point out, the H&M model looks weird because they have photoshopped the dress onto her entirely... so they can sell it. I'm a designer and sometimes I have to do this because a garment hasn't made it to the office in time for the photoshoot. I still want to be able to sell it, and my buyers won't be interested unless they can see what it looks like on a body. sometimes you just have to do it, it has nothing to do with changing the model's body, I'm just trying to sell a garment.
I dont get what the big deal is. They were very honest about the fact that it wasn't actually her on the cover....a ploy so sell more magazines ? Well isn't that the idea every time you sell a magazine ? Make the cover as enticing as possible so that the reader will choose to buy it ??
