Before Kate Middleton began dating her future husband, second in line to the British throne Prince William, she dated Rupert Finch.

The now Duchess of Sussex met Finch at St Andrews University (like she did Prince William) in 2001, when Finch was studying his final year of law. But the pair broke up after just less than a year of dating.

Kate Middleton soon after began dating her now-husband, but they were friends for over a year first, living doors apart from each other in student accommodation at St Andrews.

Today, her ex-partner Finch is a solicitor in London, and is married to the Marquess of Reading’s daughter, Lady Natasha Rufus Isaacs.

According to the UK Telegraph Finch and his then-girlfriend Lady Natasha Rufus Isaacs were invited to Kate and William’s wedding in 2011, but it’s not clear whether they attended.

In June 2013, Finch married Lady Natasha Rufus Isaacs at the Church of St John the Baptist, which Prince William’s cousin Princess Eugenie attended, alongside her now husband Jack Brooksbank and Prince Harry’s rumoured girlfriend at the time, Cressida Bonas.

Rupert Finch and his wife also attended Princess Eugenie and Jack Brookbank's wedding in October last year at St George’s chapel, along with 800 other guests, including the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.

Natasha Rufus Isaacs is the co-founder of luxury fashion company Beulah London, a socially conscious brand that helps vulnerable women gain employment through the profits of their clothing. Kate Middleton often wears this brand.

Just last month, the Duchess of Cambridge wore an olive green midi dress from Rufus Isaac's fashion company during a visit to Family Action.

The company co-founder posted a photo of the royal wearing her designs to her personal Instagram account, with the caption: "Beautiful in bespoke Beulah today".

Rupert Finch and Natasha Rufus Isaacs have two children together. And of course, Kate Middleton and Prince William share three kids together: Prince George, 5, Princess Charlotte, 3, and Prince Louis, 9 months.
