Where's Kate today? In Queens-land, of course.

The royals decamp north for a daytrip to Brisbane.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have taken a day trip from Sydney to Brisbane today, where they flew into the Amberley Air Force base, west of the capital, to meet members of the RAAF and their families.

Until September last year, William was a RAF rescue helicopter pilot himself, so he and Kate were right at home at Amberley.

They were greeted at the base by Queensland premier Campbell Newman, and after the reception headed into Brisbane city centre for a walkabout to meet fans who had been lining the streets since early this morning.

Kate wore a blue and white poppy print frock from British chain store LK Bennett, one of her favourite shops. By all reports, it’s already sold out. Sorry.

Meanwhile, this photo of Kate photobombing a fan in New Zealand last week has been going viral after being posted on Reddit.

The royal couple will head back to Sydney this afternoon, as tomorrow they're off to Taronga Zoo after an Easter Sunday church service.
