The Instagram post that has the potential to sink an international beauty brand.

An American celebrity tattoo artist and the owner of a major cosmetics line has infuriated many of her followers by claiming she will not vaccinate her unborn child.

Kat Von D, the owner of one of the world’s most successful self-titled makeup brands, has nearly seven million Instagram followers and over 12 million on Facebook, to whom she revealed her plans for her baby.

“I knew the minute we announced our pregnancy that we would be bombarded with unsolicited advice. Some good and some questionable – unsolicited none the less.

“I also was prepared for the backlash and criticism we would get if we decided to be open about our personal approach to our pregnancy. My own Father flipped out on me when I told him we decided to ditch our doctor and go with a midwife instead.

“If you don’t know what it’s like have people around you think you are ridiculous, try being openly vegan.

“And, if you don’t know what it’s like to have the entire world openly criticize, judge, throw uninformed opinions, and curse you – try being an openly pregnant vegan on Instagram, having a natural, drug-free home birth in water with a midwife and doula, who has the intention of raising a vegan child, without vaccinations.”

Von D went on to say any “negative comments” will not “influence her choices”, claiming she is doing “actual research” on her choices.

Right.

Her followers, naturally, were unimpressed with not just her personal choices, but her decision to spread them and share them with her millions and millions of followers.

“It disgusts me how people with zero education about vaccination keep trying to spread hate against it. You stupid people are risking serious diseases for your children and bringing back diseases that can affect the entire population,” one said.

“Vaccinations are ESSENTIAL,” another added. “By choosing not to vaccinate your child, you are putting not only them but others in danger too. by not vaccinating your child, you are opening them up to a world of diseases that would otherwise not be seen. I find it insane that you are all about ‘cruelty free’ in your brand, yet are making the decision to be so cruel to your child. Ultimately, it’s your decision, I just hate to see a poor kid put in danger because of parents’ ignorance.”

“Sorry Kat but this is so misinformed!” one more wrote. “If you had done your “research” on vaccination you would know how incredibly important immunisation is not only for your child but for the entire populations health.”

Yeah. We think those comments say just enough.
