Burn your boyfriend jeans. Jazz pants are in.

It had to happen. Are we finally moving on from workout wear being worn to everything from coffee with friends and shopping for Breton shirts, to quick 10am pressos on World Food Programs with U.N. Secretary General Ban Ki Moon?

It could be nice to see something different out there. Something that doesn’t look like two blood sausages walking around.

Well, Vogue.com has announced a new replacement for activewear, dubbing this new must-have item as “comfortable as leggings but way cooler … an alternative to stiff, high-rise jeans, which don’t lend themselves to 10-hour days in front of a computer.”

Can’t wait. I’m excited. What is it? What is this new trend I must have now?

As Karl Lagerfeld says, Excusez-moi (then where are my black sunnies and my really skinny muses)?

Yes, apparently they high-kicked it off the Spring 2016 runway (the fashion shows in September) with names like Carven, Pheobe Philo and Proenza Schouler making the case for its move from 1982 dance concerts in Brisbane to the bodies of the world's hippest fashionistas.

In ribbed marle and fluid flares and extra-long lengths they were a big, fat fashion hit on the runways last month.

Looking for some jazz pants inspo, look no further (post continues):

So that's it then? Flared elastane jazz pants are the next big thing? I love change. I love fashion evolution. I love watching people in jazz pants, particularly if they can do jazz hands at the same time. I love it because they both have their own special place in the world.

Yes, jazz pants have their own special place. And, I'm not yet convinced if that special place is on me....
