Listen up, horndogs, and ploi-se look at moiye: the first Kath and Kim movie, ‘Kath & Kimderella’, is finally here. The foxy ladies from Fountain Lakes walked the red carpet at the Sydney premiere last night, decked out in some noice, diff’rent, and definitely unuuusual fashions. Kath was resplendent in a white onesie with chunky gold accessories, while Kim channelled Jordan in a bejewelled princess gown and tiara. Never one to shy away from the spotlight, Sharon blinged up her signature netball uniform with a gold sequinned tracksuit, and Kel was dashing in his patterned shirt and trouser ensemble.
If the film’s trailer is anything to go by, all those catchphrases and characters we love are back and more outrageous than ever. When Kath wins a trip to the Italian principality of Papilloma she takes Kim and Sharon along for the ride, leaving Kel, Brett and their Snuggies behind in Fountain Lakes. Upon arrival, Kath is mistaken for a wealthy noble by the local monarch King Javier, whose dashing son gives Kim the ‘hairy eyeball’. There’s a choreographed dance number, a sword fight and cameos from Prue and Trude, Kim’s young daughter Epponnee Rae and Aussie designer Alex Perry – what more could you ask for?
