According to The Independent, local newspapers are reporting March has smashed national records for total births in a month.
Curious indeed.
Beating the English at anything has always been a good confidence booster for Europeans. But one-upping them at their national pastime, football (it’s soccer guys) has proven to be an extremely powerful aphrodisiac for the Icelanders.
But with pleasure can also come pain, that is, the pain numbed by a record-breaking number of epidurals administered to expectant mothers in Icelandic hospitals.
So c'mon, Socceroos. It appears a sport game can be more than just a sport game after all.
