How to get beach hair (without going anywhere near the beach).

Image: Emily, loving the return of John Frieda’s Beach Blonde.

Want to capture the look and feeling of textured beach hair all year long? I know I do.

There’s nothing better than that feeling you have on beach holidays – sunshine, the ocean, cocktails and gorgeous, tousled hair… it’s enough to put anyone in a great mood.

When our beauty director Nicky Champ told me that John Frieda‘s cult product range Beach Blonde was back, I was over the moon as she had always raved about it.

But I thought, uh-oh. I’m brunette. I’m half Asian. Can I even use this product?

But luckily for me and non-blonde ladies everywhere, I now know that everyone can have fun with these products – brunette half-Asian girls included.

Bring out your inner beach babe.

As John Frieda Hair Care’s International Creative Consultant Harry Josh says:

“Women are always trying to achieve that textured hair that makes them look like they just spent a day at the beach. It’s effortless looking yet glamorous. Now, with the BeachBlonde® regime,it’s possible to recreate that tousled, sexy summer hair anywhere, anytime.”

If you’re the same, and want to know how to keep that “summer hair look and feeling” even when you can’t get to the beach, simply follow these steps.

STEP 1. Shampoo and condition, as you normally would in the shower, using Cool Dip™ Purifying Shampoo & Smooth Seas™ Detangling Conditioner.

"Oh what a feeling"

STEP 2. Mist hair evenly all over with Ocean Waves ® Sea-Salt Spray.

Easy.

STEP 3. Simply air dry if hair is already of wavy texture…. Too easy, right? If your hair is naturally poker-straight, blow dry your hair with a diffuser for a bit of oomph.

STEP 4. If you haven’t reached the desired level of beach-babe-ness, use a curling iron to add a bit more of a wave.

Turn up the heat.

Voila, beach babe hair without the beach. Now someone pass me a margarita.
