Havaianas Australia Day thong challenge

The Havaianas Australia Day Thong Challenge is a great opportunity for friends and family to come together and celebrate what makes our country so wonderful.

Over its seven year history, the Havaianas Australia Day Thong Challenge has continually raised funds for charity, and 2012 will be no exception with $10.00 from each registration going to the local Nippers club at each state’s beach.  Emma Kowaleczko, Marketing Manager for Havaianas commented, “We are delighted to once again be raising funds for Australia’s Nippers at the 2012 Havaianas Australia Day Thong Challenge! Beach safety is so important in Australia, and Nipper programs educate and develop vital skills and confidence in the water.”

The thousands of Australians that took part in the 6^th Annual Havaianas Australia Day Thong Challenge last year, raised $68,100 for the Nippers and $20,000 for the Queensland Flood Relief Appeal.

Nippers spokesperson and North Bondi Club President Grant McMah says, “We are so grateful to all of the people who attended the event and to Havaianas for organising such a wonderful day. The money raised went towards buying new equipment, transporting the kids to and from surf carnivals and maintaining the Surf Club facilities. This generous donation means that we can focus on training the Surf Life Savers of tomorrow.”

With the event held at beaches across Australia – Bondi (NSW), Torquay (VIC), Glenelg (SA), Cottesloe (WA), Mooloolaba (QLD), they aim to raise even more money than previous years.
