Guy and Jules Sebastian have an unusual sleeping arrangement when he's on tour.

Australian singer Guy Sebastian has revealed he and wife Jules sleep in separate beds while he is on tour.

Speaking to KIIS 101.1’s Matt Tilley and Meshel Laurie on Monday morning, the father-of-two said there was a good reason behind the nightly separation.

“When I am on tour I have to sleep, otherwise my voice doesn’t heal,” the 35-year-old explained.

Guy – no doubt feeling the collective eyeroll of every mother listening – quickly defended his decision.

“I know it sounds like a cop-out, but it is actually true.”

Why can’t he get a good night sleep next to Jules, you ask? Well, the X-Factor judge admitted it might have something to do with his two young sons, Hudson, four, and Archer, two.

“My kids, they suck. They get up at like 5.30am,” he laughed.

Is it just us who feel Jules, a celebrity stylist, maybe got the raw end of the deal here…?

While sleeping in separate beds might seem unconventional to many, Guy and Jules are not the only high-profile couple to test out this occasional sleeping arrangement.

Zoe Foster Blake told Mamamia in July she and husband Hamish Blake sometimes do the same, for similar reasons.

The beauty guru told Holly Wainwright that Hamish had crashed in the spare room the night before she was interviewed for the episode of the podcast, I Don’t Know How She Does It.

“I engineered it so my husband was in the spare room. We’re both pretty tired at the moment and exhausted, and he tends to snore when he does that,” she said.

“So I kicked him out knowing that I’d need my brain today.”

Her revelation proved there is no shame in prioritising sleep over a shared bed.
