When those weird documentary-style updates were shown at the end of the Bachelor in Paradise finale last week, we were hardly surprised to learn Grant and Ali had broken up once the show stopped filming.

Despite their intense relationship in Fiji, no one on the show was very good at keeping their off-screen fate a secret. It was established early on that they hadn’t lasted, and most of us put it down to one factor: Grant.

We debrief on a Bach in Paradise finale that had us feeling far more than we expected to. Post continues.

He seemed kinda fame hungry, tbh, and had previously proposed on the US version of Bachelor in Paradise, suggesting he didn’t take the very sacred nature of relationships built in an entirely artificial reality TV environment very seriously.

He’s also American, and yeah, his accent made him seem a bit shady.

All valid points.

But now, the 29-year-old firefighter says he caught 32-year-old Ali Oetjen, who has been announced as Australia’s next Bachelorette, cheating on him with his best friend.

We did NOT see that coming.

Speaking to New Idea, Grant detailed the moment he caught Ali cheating.

"The third or fourth day she got here, we went out and this night – when all this stuff happened – I had people over after going out to a club. I live in a gated community so I have to go down and let people in sometimes.

"So, I leave my house with my friend Sabrina, to go and grab my friends and bring them back upstairs, and when we walk back inside, we come up the stairs and she is hooking up with this dude.

"I kicked her out and he slept on my couch that night. The guy that this all went down with, he didn’t even know she was with me, he didn’t even know who she was. He thought she was some random girl at my house!"

Grant says he told Ali to stop talking to him, blocked her on social media, and then she flew home.

"That is literally one of the most disrespectful things you can do," he told the publication. "I don’t even know how to get past that level of disrespect. I’m still shocked by it."

Finally, he added: "There’s your Bachelorette."

Ali is yet to comment on Grant's claims and HOW DO WE KNOW IF IT'S TRUE.

This is the show that just keeps on giving.
