iVillage's new Food Blogger is... (Insert Your Name Here).

It could be you.

You know that feeling when you’ve spent a lot of time and effort preparing a delicious and wholesome meal, only to have your family either scoff it down without gushing about how delicious it is, or not eat it at all?

Well, those days of baking and simmering and stirring and whisking and glazing for a less-than-gushy crowd are O-V-E-R. Get ready for masses and masses of appreciation, courtesy of Food Blogger Idol 2015.

This year we’ve joined forces with Pampas…and the very name Pampas makes you want to bite into a scrumptious pastry dish, whether it be sweet or savoury, right?

I know that I’m not the only one who has never mastered the art of cooking pastry from scratch. (Honestly, who could be bothered to make 64 layers of puff pastry? Who has the time?)

You can make this at home too. Just visit http://www.pampas.com.au/recipes/

Luckily, Pampas makes it a heck of a lot easier to create those pastry creations... And now, by entering Food Blogger Idol, you get the chance to show them all off!

How to enter:

Think inside the square. Think pies, think desserts, think golden brown crunchiness. Revisit those favourite dishes, but get creative and own them; give them a fresh new twist. All you need to do is whip up a dish using Pampas pastry that fits into one of the following categories:

1. Food for entertaining.
2. Kitchen leftovers.
3. Meals that kids will eat.

Take lots of photos, from the ingredients to the creation of the dish to the finished product (around five should be enough and on your iPhone is totally fine). Send a headshot with it, because we’re going to give you all the credit you deserve for your dish and possibly more.

Send your entry in to foodbloggeridol@themotherish.com along with your name (even if it’s your 'public' alias, because you don’t want people to track you down and ask for samples). All entries are due by 11.59pm on Sunday 15th March.

The iVillage staff will then judge your entries and choose the top 5 finalists who will each have their entry posted live on themotherish.com as a blog post. Then over the following 2 weeks, the public will vote on their one favourite blogger and or dish over.

At the end of the voting period, the person with the most votes will be crowned our Food Blogger Idol.

Pampas Pastry. The core ingredient!

Win.

Think awesome prizes!

The top 5 finalists will each receive a massive hamper filled with an amazing selection of food goodies, as well as a Coles/Myer Gift Card.

The overall winner of iVillage Food Blogger Idol will also receive a paid 12 week editorial contract with the Mamamia Women’s Network where they will write one food post a week for 12 weeks and published on themotherish.com as our Food Blogger.

Cinnamon pear tarts. Drool.

We can’t wait to see your entries. There’s so much you can do with Pampas. Pastry is like a blank canvas and it can turn the most boring ingredients into something new. You can wrap, roll, cut and glaze it and there will be plenty of ooohing and aaahing, if not from your hungry family, then from us and the team at Pampas.

On top of the pleasure of now getting to cook for an appreciative, if not judgemental crowd (think prizes!), any cookbook purchase can now be constituted as ‘research’, which makes the expense of buying the latest incredibly large and intimidating Heston release totally worth it, as does repeated viewing of My Kitchen Rules, Masterchef, Top Chef and Cake Boss. So get excited, get creating, and send in your entries.

Happy cooking!
