1. The most tumultuous series of political events in recent Australian history is being turned into a major television drama:
The rise and fall of Kevin Rudd.
The series will follow the events leading up to the ousting of Kevin Rudd as Prime Minister on June 24, 2010. The announcement of the series comes as Julia Gillard is trying to highlight the achievements of her administration – rather than its controversial beginnings.
Author Bob Ellis (who has also been a speechwriter for Foreign Minister Bob Carr) has been brought on board to write the script, producer Stuart Quin (who worked on The Adventures Of Priscilla, Queen Of The Desert) is overseeing the project, and Tony Tilse (the original 2008 Underbelly) has agreed to direct the drama.
The most important question though, is: who do you think should be cast? Kevin Rudd joked with The Courier-Mail that he “saw one suggestion of Eric Bana… I think that the Hulk, Chopper Read and me makes a nice trilogy.” Rudd also said that no actress could do justice to his wife, Therese Rein.
Here are some of the suggestions floating around. Have you got any better ones?

3. Are these the ugliest shoes of all time? Would you wear the mutant love-child of a sneaker and a moon-boot? (You can read more about this bizarre fashion trend from sneaker shoe devote and Mamamia publisher Mia Freedman HERE.)
4. Ben Affleck has given a speech at the Directors Guild of America about his wife, fellow actor Jennifer Garner, 40, that has left women everywhere swooning.
People magazine reports that Affleck told the audience:
“I have to just thank my wife for being the best person in the world. I love you,” Affleck, 40, told the audience as he accepted the award for outstanding directorial achievement for Argo.
“I don’t need to look at the teleprompter to know why I want to thank you. I want to thank you because I love you.”
He added: “I want our daughters to break boundaries.”
Despite being snubbed for an Oscars nomination, Ben Affleck has continued to receive accolades and admiration for his direction of Argo. Argo itself has received seven Oscars nominations, including best picture.

Tilda Swinton for Julia if budget allowed. That quote from K-Rudd was awesome, I still love him...I really don't like the idea of them doing this program before the election, though.
I agree with everything Russell said. He's only speaking the truth. I just don't agree with him deleting the posts.
