friendship

Tipsy Reese can't pronounce her friend's name.

Judging by the photos, everyone had a grand ol’ time at the Met Gala this week – but we think some stars had more fun than others.

Yesterday, British model Cara Delevingne shared some candid footage from the night, in which she’s crowded in an elevator with actresses Reese Witherspoon, Zooey Deschanel and Kate Upton (oh, to be a fly on the wall).

While the video, captioned “The confusion”, has since been removed from Instagram, the evidence lives on – and we’re oh-so happy because it’s absolutely priceless:

The hilarity begins when a rather drunk Reese attempts to pronounce Cara’s (admittedly, quite tricky) surname.

“If you force me to say your last name, I’ll be f****ed,” the Legally Blonde star says in her distinctive Southern Belle drawl. Cara prompts Reese, telling her, “I love it. I love it when you do it. Say it.” Her first attempt? “Dey-luh-ving-ning“. Hey, she was pretty close. Kate and Zooey chime in and don’t have much luck with it either.

“I love you Carra. I mean Cara… I don’t know what your f***ing name is,” Reese continues. Eventually, she gets her tongue around Delevingne – kinda. “That’s super French – Dey-leviiiiingne,” she purrs.

The video winds up with some, ah, baby name advice from the Oscar winner. “You know what’s the most important thing in a name for a girl? Is that a man can whisper it into his pillow.”

We wonder if she kept that in mind when naming her now 14-year-old daughter Ava?

Reese recently said she and her husband Jim Toth had cleaned up their act since their arrest for drunk driving last year. But it doesn’t look like they’ve got too sensible on us.

Love it. Cara, more of this please.
