We weren’t expecting this from America’s most over-exposed family.
Earlier this year, 34-year-old Kim Kardashian took her family off to Jerusalem to have two-year-old North West baptised.
Because, she could.
The family, which consisted of Kanye, Kim, North, Khloe and one growing foetus on this holiday, headed to a quiet, private location for the intimate, personal ceremony. Yesterday, they shared photos of that ceremony with Kim’s 36.4 million Instagram followers.
But aside from that, the ceremony was definitely not what anyone was expecting from the world’s most exposed family.
There were no balloons, diamonds dripping from the sky or ball gowns. In fact, it was actually very understated and quite lovely.
As I said, not what we’ve come to expect.
Kim and Khloe, meanwhile, tried their best to blend in to the understated surroundings. Didn’t really work.
The famous selfie obsessor and her family were in Jerusalem on a tour when she chose the Armenian church St James Cathedral as the location of North’s baptism. Despite a media frenzy outside the church, the Archbishop who baptised North hilariously had no clue who the Kardashians were, and admitted as much when he was asked by reporters.
“Kim Kardashian’s daughter will be baptized and become a Christian officially and a member of the Armenian church,” Archbishop Aris Shirvanian said.
“All I know is that she’s a famous personality. I don’t know her in person. In any case she is welcome with her family.”
