Five genius ideas for those sort-of-lazy folk.

There are all sorts of genius ideas to make your life easier

By SERENA RYAN

I like to consider myself a get-up-and-go kinda girl which is often at odds with my loving to lie- around-doing-very-little kinda girl self.

Like most people, I have a full working life which when you’re working in the media means long days and strange hours. This often makes me wonder if there’s a shortcut to getting stuff done.

Just as an FYI, you should know that this post is sponsored by Samsung F700G Vacuum. But all opinions expressed by the author are 100% authentic and written in their own words.

This has long been a burning question of mine so of course, I do what anyone else in my position might do.

I Googled it.

Turns out there are loads of genius ideas to make your busy life a bit easier and get stuff done. How awesome are the interwebs?

This inspired me to come up with a few ideas of my own which shall hereto be known as ‘Serena’s Top 5 Genius Ideas for Sort-of-Lazy-Folk’. A bit wordy but you get the gist.

Let us begin.

1. Edible staples

How many of you have bitten into a humongous sandwich only to have it explode all over you? If there were staples that were edible, this wardrobe malfunction would be eliminated. No more strange looks when you’re wearing white and look like you’ve been puked on. Edible staples are da bomb people! They are also the proud nominee for Genius Idea Number 1.

Wouldn’t it be great if the gym paid you for the hours that you didn’t go?

2. Morgan Freeman

You’re probably thinking WTF? Bear with me. If Morgan Freeman recorded every single word in the dictionary in a range of tones, his voice could be used to narrate documentaries forever. When he’s long gone we would still have him narrate our favourite moments. Think about it. Morgan Freeman is THE MAN.  Let’s just call that Genius Idea Number 2.

3. Gym Membership

No, I’m not suggesting that the gym is a genius idea but what about a gym that pays you a dollar for every day that you don’t attend? Yes, that’s what I’m talking about. You get paid for thinking ‘oh not today’ FOREVER. Genius Idea Number 3 take a bow.

4. A Dishwasher Fairy

We all love a bit of convenience and the dishwasher is often considered the life saver of busy people. But can it load itself after a dinner party which at my place, usually ends in the wee small hours? I think not. Genius Idea number 4 has to be a dishwasher fairy who not only loads the dishes but is considerate enough to pop a cool towel on the hungover brow the next morning.  The wand of choice for the fairy is optional as is the costume.

5. A Vacuum cleaner that follows you around

I have a beautiful dog that follows me around the house constantly. If I leave the room so does she. This is great for my ego but let’s face it, my dog spends most of her time simply being fabulous. She has never offered to do the vacuuming which I might add, is my least favourite chore. So how amazing would it be if you could wander about the house whilst a vacuum cleaner follows you and cleans as it goes? If you’re a bit of a chore procrastinator like me or you’re just looking to eliminate some of the burden of household chores to focus on the more fun stuff, this is the vacuum for you and is the clear winner in the Genius Idea stakes.

And the best part is that the new Samsung F700G does exactly this.

Wish I’d thought of it first.
