'Fitzy' on that time a Hollywood star tried to convert him to Scientology.

So he gave them a fake number and address and RAN.

On The Project last night, Nova 96.9 presenter Ryan ‘Fitzy’ Fitzgerald spoke about his chance, and uncomfortable, encounter with the Church of Scientology.

Twelve years ago, Fitzy was recovering from his third knee reconstruction by holidaying in L.A. when he ran into Dharma & Greg actress, Jenna Elfman.

Fitzy and his family.

Fitzy only wanted a photo with Jenna (he’s a big fan) but instead got more than he bargained for when she said she could fix his knee through a ‘purification process.’

Jenna is a committed Scientologist.

“And she goes, ‘Where are you from?’ And I said, ‘I’m from Adelaide,’ and she said, ‘I’ve got a contact for you, its called the purification process and it will fix all your problems,’” said Fitzy.

This ‘contact’ Jenna knew in Adelaide turned out to be a member of the Church of Scientology.

In true Fitzy YOLO style, he met up with the Scientologist. Then things got… weird.

“A guy brought me in and there were all these people there. And he said, ‘Welcome, we’ve been waiting for you’.

“He took me down into this dark room to watch this video of a young man who got injured and how he went to Scientology and got his way out of it.

“But when they stopped the video it was completely black. And I’m down in this basement and I’m just waiting for a baseball bat to hit me in the back of the head.

YES, ALL OF THE NIGHTMARES.

So what did he do to get out of there?

“And I was freaking out … I gave them a fake number and address and I got out of there as quick as I could.”

He showed them. And lived to tell the tale.
